How Does The Service Work?

Every week, you will receive clean cloth diapers in a plastic pail liner. Take the clean diapers out of the liner and leave them near your change table. Put the clean pail liner inside your diaper pail to be used for soiled diapers. On the morning of your delivery date, simply tie up the pail liner with the soiled diapers inside and put it on your doorstep. When Changing Ways brings your next delivery, you just take out the clean diapers and start again. Yes, it’s that simple!

When Will I Get My First Diapers?

In order to make sure that you have diapers available as soon as your baby arrives, your first week of diapers will be delivered 1 – 2 weeks before your due date. Once your baby is born, please call to activate your service. Your first week of delivery will be to collect the first soiled diaper load and exchange it with fresh clean diapers at the quantity you first ordered. If you start with 50 diapers, your first order after activation will be 50 diapers. After this, what you put out in soiled diapers each week, you will receive the following week. You will be given a regular pickup/drop off time frame.

What Do I Do With Soiled Diapers? Do I Need To Rinse Them?

There is no rinsing required with Changing Ways Diaper Service. Just place the soiled diapers into a diaper pail. Please shake firmer bowel movements into the toilet, or use a flushable liner (available at many retail stores or through Changing Ways). Please do not individually bag soiled diapers – it just creates more waste. On the morning of your scheduled pick up day, please remove the pail liner full of soiled diapers from your pail, tie it up and place it in your predetermined location for pick up.

When Is My Delivery Day? What Time Should I Have My Diapers Out?

Your delivery day will be addressed when you register for the service. You can expect your deliveries to be at approximately the same time every week. We start deliveries around 8:00 in the morning, so we ask all clients to have the soiled diapers out early. You can even put them out the night before. In our five years of operation, believe it or not, not one bag of soiled diapers has been stolen!

Do I Get The Same Diapers Back Each Week?

The short answer is no. For the first 2 weeks of service you will receive the total number of diapers you have ordered. The following week (and every subsequent week) you will receive only the number of diapers which you returned the week before. Please keep any clean diapers you have left at the end of the week for use the following week. You can rest assured that all diapers are cleaned to the highest standard and tested for hygiene.

What Size Diaper Do We Use?

Changing Ways supplies two sizes of diapers: Infant and Toddler. The Infant diapers fit babies from 5-15 lbs, and Toddler diapers fit babies 15-35 lbs. Babies reach the 15lb milestone at different ages, so the best guess is between 4-6 months. Larger diaper covers may be required to fit the Toddler pre fold diapers.

How Many Diapers Should I Get A Week?

You will begin the service with the average number of diapers: 70/week for newborns or 50/week for babies aged 6 months and older. If you urgently need more diapers between deliveries, please call and arrangements will be made to get more diapers to you. If you find you don’t need as many diapers as you are regularly receiving, call us and we will adjust your weekly delivery amount.

Do my Diaper Covers go out for Pick Up too?

No.  The diaper covers are a purchase made by the family for use only with your own children.  Keep your Bummis Diaper Covers to reuse with each cloth diaper until they become soiled with pee or poop.  Wash them with your regular laundry weekly and don’t forget to fold in the hook and loop tabs to keep the everything else from sticking to it.  You can wash these at hot, warm, or cool temperatures and reduce the detergent used in these loads to avoid build up.  More specific washing instructions are available straight from Bummis.

Can I Skip Weeks Of Delivery?

Changing Ways provides a WEEKLY delivery service of diapers. If you have too many clean diapers left at the end of the week you must reduce the number of diapers you order. Unfortunately, Changing Ways cannot accommodate “skipping” deliveries. That being said, vacations/holiday breaks in service are perfectly fine.. just let us know ahead of time!

What Other Things Do I Need To Use Cloth Diapers ?

Check out the Cloth Diapering Link to the right. Typically, we suggest having 4 covers and a couple Snappis, at a bare minimum. The rest is up to what you think you might need!

How Do I Pay For The Service?

Payment for the first 4 weeks of service is required upon registering for the service. After the first 4 weeks, you may choose your billing schedule: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. However, if you are paying by credit card, we ask that you your billing schedule be bi-weekly or monthly.

Methods of payment include cash, cheque, Visa, or Mastercard. A credit card number is required (Visa or Mastercard) when registering for the service. You may still choose your preferred method of payment and your credit card will not be charged unless you choose.

Do You Have Gift Certificates? I Want To Give The Service As A Gift!

A diaper service is a wonderful gift for a new parent, or any parent with a baby in diapers! Please call 705-749-5659 to arrange for an attractive personalized gift certificate available in any denomination.

What Happens When My Child Is Ready To Potty Train?

It is an exciting day when your child no longer needs diapers. When you are ready to begin toilet training, there are training pants available. Check out the Quiz to determine your child has the signs of readiness. When training is complete, please call me in advance to arrange for your service to be discontinued.
